Mackenzie has faced numerous challenges in her life, but she has been resourceful and has successfully made it to adulthood. She spent a significant amount of time in group homes and grappled with many mental health challenges. However, she recently found a therapist she likes and secured her own apartment in Extended Foster Care, indicating substantial progress in transitioning to adulthood. She has started cooking her own meals, held a job for a period of time, and is currently attending college online. Due to her mental health challenges, Mackenzie finds it difficult to be in public and needs a friend to accompany her to the grocery store in order to get the items she needs. Despite these challenges, she enjoys surfing, skateboarding, and recently attended her first concert. While she may be misunderstood at times, those who get to know her find her to be a very charming young woman.
