Nevaeh has been in foster care since she was 12 years old. She has bounced between more than 11 foster placements and restrictive psychiatric facilities, where she had a difficult time acclimating due to her significant history of trauma. However, this year, she connected with her grandmother, who accepted the placement of Nevaeh in her home. The transition has not been easy, as Nevaeh continues to work towards healing through therapy. Still, she is so much happier with her grandmother than she ever was in any foster placement. She finally feels loved and safe. Now that Nevaeh is beginning to heal, she is focusing on other goals such as education and her future.
