Maré is a multi-media artist, fashionista, and lover of music and matcha. She has worked as an art director and was previously an art fellow. She hopes to return to the art realm soon, as she misses it deeply. As a former foster youth, Maré is passionate about her community. She created a 2-D animation film highlighting the life of Judge Songhai Armstead, who was also a former foster youth. Her goal is to continue elevating the stories of individuals within the child welfare system. She also served as a coach for transition-age foster youth, which she describes as an amazing opportunity for her growth and mindset. Currently, Maré works as an in-home support services provider for her older sister, who has a temporary disability. She is looking to branch out soon and return to her passions in art and film, with the ultimate goal of living her life in peace and helping other foster youth heal from their trauma.
