Kayla has been staying in the youth emergency shelter since February 2023 when she was kicked out by her mother and became a state ward. Recently we have been able to identify a kinship option (one of Kayla's old neighbors) who would like to take placement of Kayla. The neighbor already has two daughters of her own and is worried about space for Kayla. Kayla wants so badly to get out of the shelter and be in a loving family home she has offered to sleep on the floor. The other girls and potential foster parents do not want to do that to Kayla. Kayla is requesting a triple bunk bed to allow each girl to have their own bed and still have space in the bedroom.
