As a recent college graduate, whose healthy lifestyle choices have also caused her to go down in clothing sizes, Jewel is in need of professional attire. She has recently been approved as a child welfare trainer, and is eager to share her lived experience as a former foster youth to benefit others.

Jewel exemplifies dedication and perseverance. Just as water dripping on a rock can eventually break through, Jewel’s persistence has overcome obstacles such as facing the adult world without support after foster care. Jewel is a poised, professional, and powerful force when it comes to supporting and encouraging other young people in and from foster care. Her loving nature is evident in everything she does, and it is that love and hope that she wants to share with today’s foster youth as a future foster parent. What she wants, more than anything else, is to become a foster parent and to let today’s foster youth know that they are lovable and valuable – and that they are not alone.
