Lucy's current position requires that she travel between school sites, conferences, and local community offices. Although she is working full time, she does not make enough to support her housing, food, and transportation costs, and contribute to a savings account. Recently, her car broke down on her way home from a conference and she is now in need of reliable transportation to keep a job she loves. She has found a local dealership that will match her down payment to get her in a reliable used car with a warranty.

Lucy graduated from University of La Verne with a Bachelor's in Kinesiology and a minor in Business Administration. She recently completed her Community Healthcare Worker Certificate and is working full-time as a Peer Support Advocate at a local county office of education. She is a former foster youth and has struggled with homelessness and family instability throughout her life. She provides financial support when she can for her siblings and mother, who still struggles with addiction. She dreams of someday opening a shelter for women and children.
