Alexys entered foster care when she was 14 and it was a difficult time for her, but she is very grateful for the academic support she received that inspired her to pursue her career and work towards a master degree. In her free time she likes to work out and her favorite sport is boxing. She also enjoys traveling, art, and make-up. She loves to be in touch with her culture and embrace her heritage.

Every year since Alexys moved into her own place, she has been able to provide a nice, comfortable place for her family to come together for the holidays. Receiving a couch would take the worry off of her shoulders because she currently does not have many places for her family to sit. This would also give her a feeling of excitement to have her family over and be able to give them a comfortable living space where they could have fun and eat good food.
