A bean bag chair for Kris to feel comfort in his bedroom

Posted Nov 15, 2023
Kris is currently placed at a residential treatment facility. He loves lounging in the common areas on bean bags which gives him the feeling of being surrounded or "hugged" while calming him. He would like a bean bag chair for his own personal use in his independent bedroom. He will also be able to take it with him when he moves to his next placement.

Kris is 18 years old and lives in OH

Kris was removed from his biological parents at the age of five and again at eleven years old. He is in the permanent custody of the state. He has severe ASD, and ambulatory, with 50 percent hearing loss in both ears. The loss of hearing and ASD diagnosis has been a barrier to his placement options due to his lack of communication skills. Kris is a delightfully sweet and humorous young man. He is currently non verbal but communicates in other ways such as sign language and physical movements. Kris has the kindest bright blue eyes and is interactive when he warms up to people. Once he is comfortable, he will engage in harmless ornery behavior causing him to laugh. He has such a pure heart and is a delight to everyone he meets!

"Kris' residential staff were so excited to give him his very own bean bag chair for his bedroom when I brought this to him. He was visibly excited that this particular bean bag chair went to his bedroom, and only for him. The bonus is it will travel with him when he moves placements and is not shared. Thank you so much for providing this comfort and joy for him this holiday season. It means the world to him, more than i could put into words. "
