Arif has been trying to add to his collection of clothes; he has only been in the US for a couple of months and wants to have more variation in what he wears. He wants a new shirt to wear when he goes to school after winter break. This wish will allow him to fit in with his peers.

Arif is from Mauritania.This young man is very smart and very ambitious. He wants to help his brother come to the U.S. and help him get a better life than the one they had in their home country. He also wants to eventually, after completing his education and going through all the necessary steps to become more independent, become a civil engineer.
