Maria loves looking at the night sky! It gives her a sense of peace and wonder. She has always wanted a telescope to look more closely at the stars and planets! She would have so much fun gazing up at night using her new telescope!

Maria is a funny, intelligent, independent young woman originally from Guatemala. When she first arrived in the United States over three years ago, she did not speak any English. Now she can communicate well with others, is doing great in school, and has begun a new job at a restaurant! Maria dreams of being a nurse one day. She loves hanging out with friends, watching movies, and making cookies!
