A day at Worlds of Fun for Emma to experience new things

Posted Mar 19, 2024
Emma hasn't had many of the experiences children her age have had and is very curious as to what these things mean. She is excited to experience new things and has a desire to be adventurous. The idea of Worlds of Fun with their themed rides is very exciting for her. She wants to ride with her foster brothers and promises to hold their hand if they are scared.

Emma is 17 years old and lives in MO

Emma is a wonderful and sweet girl who, despite a mental handicap, does her very best to learn and work towards independence. She is determined to learn the necessary skills she will need to become more independent and eventually able to be on her own. She's an affectionate young lady who loves everyone, especially those who will give her big hugs! Emma has a creative mind and loves making those rubber band bracelets, she finds blue avatar to be the greatest thing ever and is obsessed with Squishmallows. Emma has faced a lot of challenges, physically, mentally, and emotionally. She has had to learn to trust the world again as she prepares to live in it as an adult. She worries a lot, but her caretakers try their best to make her feel loved, to teach her that there is good in the world, and to be a guiding presence in her young life.

"This may seem like a simple thing for a lot of kids, but for this kid it was the best gift ever. This experience is a first and is so very exciting for her. Emma has had a lot of challenges which have made it difficult for her to be a normal kiddo, so being able to provide her with this small piece of normalcy is incredibly awesome. The family is so thankful to the kind heart that provided her with this gift and cannot wait to share this experience with her. "
