Cheerleading uniforms and fees for Lily to become a cheerleader
Posted May 6, 2024
Lily has tried a lot of different activities and loves to be involved in things, but sometimes, she feels like she doesn't fit in. She said she feels like when growing up, "I don't feel good enough, or there were times when I was younger that I made the wrong choice, and it affected me with the activity. Now that I am older, I have really worked through my traumas and learned coping skills to keep me from taking steps backward. Because of this, I really wanted to try something that would help me be involved in school and help to hold me accountable. I did cheerleading when I was little and really liked it. Now that I am going into high school, I wanted to try out for the cheer team. I made it! But, now I have a lot of things that need to be purchased to stay on the team." This is so exciting for her as she finally has found an activity that makes her feel confident. Due to the financial burden of costs related to needing to purchase uniforms and joining fees to officially join the team and the school not categorizing cheer as a sport, she is unable to get funding for it through the school system. This wish would mean so much as the season is set to start very soon. This wish will help pay for everything she needs to get started: uniform, pom poms, camp clothes, cheer camp, shoes, warm-up clothes, and cheer bows! Lily is starting a new school and hopes that being a part of the cheer team will help her make new friends! She is looking forward to cheer because not only does it give her purpose, but she will benefit from the friendships and comradery of this team environment.
