For years in foster care, Cynthia always had to wear the things that other people chose for her. She never truly was allowed to express herself or even wear higher end clothing and shoes. She felt like she never was allowed to dress true to who she was. Cynthia has been wanting to get a really nice, durable pair of Doc Marten boots to make her walks when it's raining more comfortable. She has been wanting these boots for quite some time and would really appreciate finally having a pair of shoes that she loves.
Cynthia is 25 years old and lives in CA
Cynthia is currently at a community college and plans to transfer to a larger institution to study political science. She spent around four years in foster care and is excited to have the opportunity to pursue higher education as a low-income and first-generation student. She loves anime and reading. Cynthia has a big heart and often goes out of her way to offer guidance and support to others. She is super interested in learning to code and how to utilize data and computers.

"I received the shoes and wanted to say thank you so much! Heading out to school, which is so far away from my family, is already scary. The weather being completely different from where I'm currently located is also a huge concern. These shoes mean a lot to me because I really need some that can keep me warm and last a long time since I constantly budget for school. Thank you so much for making my transition a lot less stressful. I will take these as another motivator as a foster youth to keep pushing myself further and not letting the statistics and background define me, but inspire me! Thank you!"
