Esperanza is really excited about getting a Nintendo Switch because it gives her something positive to do during her free time at home and on car rides. She used to have one when she lived with her biological mother and found it to be a great escape. Now, she feels that having one will be a fun way to pass the time, especially since she has learned healthy coping skills through therapy and living with her aunt. Having her own Switch will be a great addition to her free time activities.
Esperanza is 15 years old and lives in CO
Esperanza has been in foster care for several years, has overcome so many obstacles in her life, and is addressing her past trauma. When she was living with her biological mother, she was failing all of her classes, skipping school, and getting into trouble. Esperanza has also been participating in sports: volleyball, basketball, and track. She attends church and youth group, and volunteers for church events. Esperanza is very determined to break the dysfunctional cycle of her parents.
