Jakyrah is a resilient young woman currently applying for housing. At 18 years old, she has faced significant challenges, including the loss of her father and the absence of her mother. Despite these hardships, she has successfully completed her high school requirements and is now taking the next step by applying for college. Her determination and focus on her future are truly inspiring as she works toward achieving her academic and personal goals.

Jakryah has a fond memory of her grandfather, who purchased her a teddy bear that she loved dearly. Sadly, a week before he died, her younger sibling, who was only three years old at the time, threw the teddy bear out the car window while they were driving. During Father’s Day weekend, she was reminded of her grandfather and the special memories they shared. Jakryah wishes she could have another teddy bear that reminds her of him that she can keep close.
