Gracious has always found solace in the ocean. After experiencing a traumatic event, her grandmother took her to a surf camp in hopes of helping her heal. It was there that Gracious discovered her deep love for surfing. At 13, she faces the challenges that come with adolescence, and as a young girl, she finds herself grappling with the weight of it all. Despite her love for surfing, her grandmother cannot afford to buy her a surfboard. Gracious longs for the opportunity to continue pursuing the activity that brings her so much joy and healing. As she prepares to enter high school, she yearns to stay engaged in something positive, and the ocean is where she finds peace and purpose.
Gracious is 13 years old and lives in FL
Gracious is one of four children her grandmother is raising from foster care. She has an older brother who is in college and two very young siblings. Out of all the siblings, Gracious has been the one with the most trauma from not having her parents in her life.
