Cary went into foster care near her 4th birthday and remained in foster care until she aged out after graduating high school, and has been making it on her own ever since. She had multiple placements in foster care, but her last foster family was very caring and loved her like she was their own child. Fortunately, she is still in touch with them and they are a positive support system in her life. Cary is a devoted mom to her autistic son.

Cary and her son, Malcolm, have been living in government housing for many years. Due to Malcolm's autism, and with just a high school education, Cary cannot find a job that pays enough to provide specialized home care for Malcolm. Cary is seeking assistance to buy several summer outfits, such as capri pants, shorts, and summer blouses, to replace her current worn-out outfits that have holes.
