A cool new Lego set for Dayton who is learning new coping skills

Posted Aug 7, 2024
Dayton finds using Legos to be a positive and healthy coping mechanism. It has helped improve his critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and ability to organize his thoughts and ideas. Dayton, a child who has struggled with impulsivity, has found that working with Legos has helped him think before he reacts. He has requested a new Lego set, as he has built and taken apart his current sets several times! This set will give him two cars to build and will keep him busy for a little while. Dayton can't wait to get started!

Dayton is 13 years old and lives in NC

Dayton is such a great kid who has witnessed a tremendous amount of trauma in his life. He loves building and constructing Legos. He uses this as a coping. Dayton does pretty well in school, but could probably do better in math. He enjoys reading and science class the most. When he was younger he wanted to be a police officer so he could help people. He has now decided he would like to be an actor when he grows up!
