Vertis is such a quiet young girl who tries her best to do the right thing. She has witnessed a lot of scary things, and she is grateful for the love of her siblings to help her through the hard times. She loves to play with friends and explore new things. She has a sweet smile that she shares when she sees peers doing silly things and little by little she is opening up to engage with others. Vertis is living with her grandmother.

Vertis is feeling sad because she has to move right before school starts. She will be attending a new school where uniforms are required, and her new caregiver really wants to take her shopping for the uniforms and enough outfits to last for the week. She also needs to find some brown shoes to wear to school. With the stress of starting the new year and dealing with so many changes, it will be comforting for her to have enough clothes to wear to school.
