Fun at a roller skating park for Katie so she can spend a day with her parents

Posted Aug 13, 2024
Katie has been in foster care since 2016, her two older siblings have both been adopted and no longer come to the scheduled visits that she has with her parents. Katie is very happy that she still gets to see her parents weekly, but said that it's not always the most fun. She would love to have a fun day with her parents, who both agreed to go roller skating with her. A Millennium Skate World gift card would cover the cost of admission, the skate rentals, and a visit to the arcade within!

Katie is 13 years old and lives in NJ

Katie is a resilient and incredibly nice girl. She is currently in a temporary group home, and enjoys playing games and watching TV with the other children in the home. She is very bright and really likes the school she is in, she gets rewarded with field trips for good behavior. The Division of Child Protection and Permanency is working hard to find a forever home for Katie.

"Katie! Hello! This skating idea sounds AMAZING. I hope you have a really fun time. You and your parents are much braver than I am, I think I would break something if I tied to roller-skate. So please, have some fun for me too. I hope your school year is really good and that some fantastic field trips await. Keep working hard and loving school--it made such a difference in my life and suspect it will in yours too! Sending you love & hugs, ~Sheryl"
