Tanya has come along way. She ran away from home when her mother died a few years ago. Since then she has lived in various homes for short periods of time and was often truant. She has found stability in her recent placement and has begun the process of obtaining her GED. She and her foster parents are beginning to trust each other and are making plans for a more permanent living situation.

Having a microwave in Tanya's dedicated space will help her have some control over her own mealtimes in the foster home. This was a point of contention in the past, and Tanya expressed this idea as a way to move forward, which was another sign of her growth. She would be so happy to have a microwave and have a little control over what and when she eats.
