Hair straightener for Tina’s birthday wish

Posted Sep 3, 2024
Tina's birthday wish is for a hair straightener. She has beautiful long hair that is naturally curly. She loves to straighten her hair but does not own a hair straightener. Currently, when she wants to straighten her hair, she is going across town to use a family member’s straightener. If she is unable to find a ride, she wears her hair curly or in a bun—a straightener to allow her to fix her hair in her own home. For Tina, it would give her freedom and independence. She would not have to decide what hairstyle to have for the day, depending on whether she could find a ride to do her hair. She would be able to make that decision without relying on other factors. She will be thrilled to get a hair straightener for her birthday this year!

Tina is 20 years old and lives in TX

Tina is full of life! Always willing to help and has a generous heart. She has struggled since aging out of foster care, couch surfing and not having any stability. She has recently moved into housing for young ladies who have aged out of care and will be eligible to stay until she is 21 to give her time to accomplish her goals and begin working towards independence. She is headstrong and always has something to say!
