Elena is eager to continue practicing and learning the sport, as it may influence her future career.

Her family is facing financial challenges due to her mother’s job closing and her subsequent difficulty finding work. Elena loves boxing and finds this sport to help her cope with trauma stemming from discrimination she has experienced from family members and past school officials because of her sexual orientation.
