Oscar has just entered care and is working through some heavy abuse-based trauma. He often appears caught between happiness and disbelief with all the new structure, help, and reassurance in his home life. He is very excited for Halloween and he has already triple-checked with caregivers that he can wear a costume around the house if he wants to. Oscar is experiencing many joys of childhood for the first time, and he will absolutely love to dress up as one of his favorite movie characters - Beetlejuice.
Oscar is 8 years old and lives in OH
Oscar entered care due to neglect and abuse at home. He had been on a safety plan with his father after his mother attempted to take her life in his presence. Despite this, he is the kindest and most cheerful child. He loves dinosaurs, hot wheels, inflatable houses, and football. He has challenges in school and regressed in many of his social skills. His foster parents welcomed him in, and they instantly clicked as a family. Oscar told them how excited he was to be with them.
