A Phone for Joseph to stay in touch with his sisters

Posted Oct 4, 2024
Joseph, a high school senior, has never owned a phone. He feels that having access to this technology is increasingly important for him to communicate with his foster family, apply for jobs, and research his next steps in life. He also wants to stay in touch with his biological sisters, who currently live in a foster home several hours away. Having his own cell phone would allow him to hear from them more frequently and have experiences like a normal teen, such as texting friends, listening to music, and creating social media pages. He believes that a cell phone would not only provide the communication he desires with his siblings but also allow him more freedom to experience a normal teenager's life.

Joseph is 17 years old and lives in GA

Joseph is an incredibly courageous, hardworking, and polite young man. He entered foster care after bravely voicing his story on behalf of his younger siblings. He is a senior in high school, where he earns excellent grades and enjoys playing football, participating in cross country, and being part of the ROTC. During his free time, Joseph loves keeping up with his favorite sports team, the Kansas City Chiefs, and learning how to drive. He currently lives with a foster family but is separated from his three younger siblings, whom he worries about often. Joseph is learning to believe in himself, ask questions, and relax and enjoy the remainder of his childhood.
