Ezra has spent most of his life moving through foster homes and residential facilities, facing challenges no young person should endure. After the devastating loss of his brother to suicide, Ezra found purpose in advocating for mental health and wellness, determined to push for better support and understanding for youth in psychiatric hospitals and residential settings. Now a member of a statewide focus group, he courageously shares his story to make a difference for others facing similar struggles. Beyond his advocacy, Ezra has found solace in knitting, crocheting hats, and working with wood—skills he discovered during his time in foster care, bringing him peace and purpose through creativity. Recently, he transitioned into his school’s day program with the ambitious goal of graduating at the top of his class. Ezra’s resilience and commitment to healing and helping others make him an inspiring example of strength and compassion in the face of hardship.
