A reverse-air dryer for Kim who needs some self-care after her mother's passing

Posted Nov 6, 2024
Kim has been struggling with the weight of her grief since losing her mother, a loss that has cast a shadow over her daily life. In her heart, she longs to reclaim a sense of joy and vibrancy that feels just out of reach. She dreams of transforming her appearance to reflect the beauty she still holds inside, but financial constraints have made it difficult to achieve the hair she envisions. The idea of routine self-care, once a source of comfort, now seems daunting amidst her emotional battles. However, she knows that investing in a high-quality hair dryer could be a turning point for her. This simple tool has the potential to revolutionize her self-care routine, making it not only manageable but a truly enjoyable experience. With every use, this hair dryer could become a symbol of healing—helping her to revive her spirit and boost her self-confidence. Each styling session could serve as a step towards rediscovering her sense of self, reminding her that she deserves to feel beautiful and cared for, just as she is. It’s more than just hair; it’s about reclaiming joy and finding moments of light in the darkness.

Kim is 16 years old and lives in NJ

Kim lost her mother to cancer, and her relationship with her father, who is raising her as a single parent, has become challenging. The conflict between them has led to anxiety and depression for Kim. She has been struggling in school due to not waking up on time and often not having well-balanced meals, largely because of her father's absence. Recently, she has received support from her godmother, who is facing her own financial difficulties. However, Kim thrives and feels much happier when she is able to spend time with her godmother. Kim has a beautiful singing voice and participates in various school activities related to music. The Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCPP) is working to address Kim's mental health and medical needs, as she has not seen a doctor since her mother's passing and is still coping with a great deal of grief.
