A Play-Doh set for Felicity to work through her feelings

Felicity, 7 years old, NE

Wish submitted by:

Jenda Foster Care

Felicity is a sweet, energetic girl and the middle child of five siblings. She is now living in a foster home with one of her biological siblings, which has been a comfort to her during this transition. Even with this positive change, Felicity still misses the rest of her family and is working hard to adjust to her new placement. Thankfully, her foster home is patient, supportive, and committed to helping her feel secure as she settles in. Felicity is very smart, full of energy, and loves being active - she enjoys playing outside and proudly plays on a soccer team where her athletic skills really shine.

Felicity is beginning to understand that experiencing intense emotions is completely natural and acceptable. However, she recognizes the importance of finding safe ways to express these feelings. To support this journey, Felicity is considering creating a designated Play-Doh area in her home. This vibrant, tactile space will provide her with the opportunity to mold and shape the dough whenever strong emotions arise. Engaging in this creative activity will not only assist her in regulating her feelings but also offer a fun, constructive outlet during challenging moments. By incorporating Play-Doh into her routine, Felicity can transform her emotional experiences into something positive and enjoyable.

"Felicity I just want to say Im proud of you. Hearing your story makes me so wish I did something similar when I was your age, because I promise you there's a whole lot of adults who don't even KNOW they need some work on how to handle the intense emotions life will throw our way at times. We need leaders like you're becoming to make this world a better place, and I want to say thank you for pursuing how to handle yourself because on the other side of that is the ability to make an impact. Cheers"
