October's Car Payment for Cheyanne who is working incredibly hard

Posted Nov 15, 2024
Cheyanne has successfully reunited with her children, and as of October 1, 2024, she and her three sons moved into their first apartment after a long and challenging journey. Upon settling in, Cheyanne discovered she needed to buy a refrigerator. After living on a limited income for years, she managed to save a small "rainy day fund." This allowed her to proudly purchase a floor-model fridge without any assistance. However, just a week later, she received a shocking notification from SSDI informing her that her payments were being stopped abruptly, without prior notice or explanation. This sudden loss of income caused her considerable stress, especially with her first rent payment approaching. Cheyanne was hesitant to inform her landlord of her situation. Fortunately, we were able to assist her by ensuring her rent was paid on November 1st and helping her file an appeal with SSDI. Unfortunately, she has not received any updates regarding the appeal as of now. While working with case managers, Cheyanne also managed to repair her credit score and purchase a vehicle, which is crucial for taking her children to medical appointments. Previously, two of her children missed several appointments due to a lack of transportation or arrived late because of issues with public transport. Cheyanne made three payments on her newly acquired used vehicle before her income was cut off. To make ends meet, she has been taking odd jobs, but her injuries limit her ability to lift or stand for long periods. Most of her income has gone toward food and utilities. Unfortunately, she is now facing an overdue car payment due on October 18, 2024. As the deadline approaches, Cheyanne is extremely stressed and fears her car might be repossessed. This would not only damage her credit, which she has worked hard to improve but also jeopardize transportation for her children's medical appointments. Relief will wash over Cheyanne when this wish is granted, helping her catch up on her October car payment.

Cheyanne is 29 years old and lives in MA

Cheyanne is a single mother who survived an extreme domestic situation that led to the involvement of the Department of Children and Families (DCF) and the removal of her three sons. As a result of significant injuries to her neck, back, and shoulders, she had to apply for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), leaving her disabled and unable to complete her goal of finishing her last semester in school to become a Veterinary Technician. Over the past two years, Cheyanne has received support and assistance from DCF and other local agencies, which have helped her heal and grow stronger both mentally and physically.
