Abel loves to read, especially graphic novels. Abel has asked to be surprised with graphic novels for Christmas, and the book Mexikid will be a perfect book for him to receive as a gift. Abel has a Hispanic heritage and has asked for more books and resources to learn about different Hispanic cultures. The story of Pedro, the main character in Mexikid, will be relatable to Abel as he follows along with Pedro's story and journey to pick up his Abuelita from Mexico. Abel will love being able to learn about different customs and traditions in the culture as Pedro learns more about his family history during the journey in the story. Abel will be so excited when he opens this on Christmas morning!
Abel is 11 years old and lives in OH
Abel has spent more than half of his life in foster care and has had to change placements almost every year that he's been in care. Abel has spent a lot of time separated from all of his siblings, but despite that, he has always maintained a positive attitude and outlook on life. Abel loves Legos, video games, and playing outside. He is an inspiring comedian and loves to make people laugh! Abel's role model is his biggest brother, and he loves it when they are able to spend time together.
