Abel loves reading and has asked to be surprised with more books for Christmas. The book Weirdo follows the story of Tony, an 11-year-old who struggles to fit in with his peers at school because they make fun of his interests. While Abel generally fits in with others at school, he struggles to continue participating in interests he has because sometimes his peers label them as "weird". Abel has also been learning about accepting others for who they are and understanding why others are different, and this book will be great to help him learn about acceptance. Abel is going to be so happy to open this on Christmas morning and is going to really enjoy reading this book!
Abel is 11 years old and lives in OH
Abel has spent more than half of his life in foster care and has had to change placements almost every year that he's been in care. Abel has spent a lot of time separated from all of his siblings, but despite that, he has always maintained a positive attitude and outlook on life. Abel loves Legos, video games, and playing outside. He is an inspiring comedian and loves to make people laugh! Abel's role model is his biggest brother, and he loves it when they are able to spend time together.
