Xavier has always loved music, as it serves as his safe space and outlet for frustration. Recently, he shared that he would like to start playing the piano, which is his favorite instrument to listen to. Unfortunately, his resource family cannot afford a piano, nor do they have the necessary space for one. However, a keyboard would be a fantastic way for him to begin exploring his passion for music. Xavier has discovered free online piano classes on YouTube, which he could utilize.
Xavier is 14 years old and lives in NJ
Xavier came into foster care at 9 years old. He was severely malnourished and behind on his schooling after experiencing neglect. Even though he has struggled for years in school, it is clear that he has an innate musical ability that helps calm and inspire him. He is a smart boy, but years of abuse have taken a toll on his ability to cope with daily life - but music is his safe space.
