Leniyah had been eagerly anticipating Christmas, especially because her father promised to buy her a pair of Jordans. She had been dreaming about those sneakers, imagining how great they would make her feel. However, when the time came, her father realized he couldn't afford them. On Christmas morning, Leniyah searched under the tree, her heart filled with hope, but she felt a wave of disappointment wash over her when she discovered that the Jordans were not there. Despite the letdown, she held on to the hope that one day she would have those new sneakers to lift her spirits. She can't wait to wear these to school and fit in with her peers.
Leniyah is 16 years old and lives in NJ
Leniyah is an honor roll student. She likes to play basketball with her two older brothers. She enjoys volunteering at the seniors' building where her grandmother used to live. She would go there and do some arts and crafts with the residents. She hopes to become a social worker when she gets older.
