Jakari, 18 years old
Wish submitted by:
CASA NJ - Essex CountyJakari has been in foster care for the majority of his life. He was abandoned by his parents and has struggled with that knowledge from the age of 5. Although he has been through many ups and downs while hopping from resource home to resource home, he is a bright young man who wants a solid future for himself. This now will include his new son. He and his girlfriend welcomed their baby 6 months ago, and although are doing a great job at parenting him at such a young age, they are struggling with affording the necessary items that will help their child with his development.
***This is not an April Fool's joke! Thanks to a few very generous supporters who have underwritten the cost of this wish, it is only $10 - today only!*** Jakari is a busy dad who wants to take better care of himself and his son. He knows eating healthy is important, but he often relies on fast food. To make a change, Jakari wants to start cooking more at home. Getting a new set of pots and pans would really help him prepare healthier meals. Cooking at home can save money and improve their diet, plus it will bring them closer together during mealtimes. This new cooking journey is a big step towards a healthier and happier life for both Jakari and his son!
