Loe recently had their purse stolen while on the metro in Los Angeles, and now they’re working hard to replace everything that was lost. Their phone was in the purse, and buying a new one is tough right now since they just started a new job and are living paycheck to paycheck. For now, they’re using an old Samsung phone from 2014 with a shattered screen. Getting a new phone would really ease some of the financial stress Loe is feeling and help them focus on important things like going to the DMV for a new ID and calling the bank about replacement cards. A reliable phone is not just important for staying connected with family; it's also crucial for their work tasks. So, having a good phone is a must for Loe!

Loe is one of those students whose resilience and grit shine through in everything they do. Loe graduated from high school with a full-ride scholarship to college while simultaneously aging out of the system with no adult, guardian, or mentor support to lean on. They studied Film and Media Arts but were forced to put their education on hold when they turned 21 and their extended foster care benefits ended. They have spent the past three years working to get their body and their mind out of survival mode in order to sustain themselves and their mental, emotional, and physical strength. They are now at a place where they are ready to explore their full potential and begin to start truly living, not just surviving.
