A tablet for Jack who is behind in school but trying very hard to catch up
Posted Mar 4, 2025
Jack did not attend school for about four years, which has resulted in a significant gap in his education. Unfortunately, he is now severely behind and struggles with basic reading skills. Despite these challenges, Jack really wants to go back to school and improve his grades.
To help with this, he started a free tutoring service at the beginning of January and meets with his tutor every evening. However, he really needs a tablet in his foster home to access these tutoring sessions. His foster parents are not always able to allow him to use their personal computer.
Jack will be able to use the tablet for his daily tutoring sessions to help him catch up in school. With the considerable amount of schooling he has missed, he has many reasons to want to catch up. During the virtual tutoring sessions, Jack cannot use his school Chromebook because it has too many firewalls that prevent him from accessing both his tutor and his school work simultaneously. A tablet would allow him to meet with his tutor more easily while still using his Chromebook for school assignments.
