Sofia has faced more challenges in her young life than most. Growing up in the foster care system, she learned early on how to be independent. Moving from home to home, she often had to start over—new schools, new environments, and new people—without the stability that many take for granted. Despite these hardships, Sofia has remained determined to create a better future for herself. Sofia wishes for an Amazon gift card to have the chance to purchase books, study materials, and essential items. Whether it’s a book to expand her knowledge, a journal to reflect on her progress, or even a small item to make her living space feel like home, this gift would mean the world to her. This request has been split into two wishes to allow for a great shopping trip! This is wish 1 of 2.
Sofia is 17 years old and lives in CA
Sofia has spent most of her life navigating challenges that many never have to face. Growing up in foster care, she learned at a young age how to adapt, stay strong, and keep pushing forward, even when the odds were stacked against her. Without a stable home or consistent support system, she often had to rely on her own resilience to get through tough times. Despite these hardships, Sofia has never stopped dreaming. She is determined to build a future where she is in control—where she can pursue her passions, achieve her goals, and create a life filled with stability and success. Now part of our youth support program, she is actively working toward that future, participating in skill-building workshops, setting educational goals, and taking steps toward independence.
