Dean is currently sleeping on an air mattress in the basement of his new foster family's home. His unexpected arrival into foster care and the family's surprise at having to take in two teenage boys have led everyone to make the best of the situation. Recently, the court decided that Dean's stay will be longer than initially expected. With this news, Dean is hoping to upgrade from his air mattress to a real bed and turn his basement bedroom into a home.
Dean is 13 years old and lives in PA
Dean is new to his foster care journey. He came into care due to issues with his biological family and substance abuse. At first, it appeared Dean would be separated from his older brother, but then a friend of his older brother stepped up to welcome both boys. While it’s been hard for Dean because he doesn’t know them well, he is so happy to be in the same home as his brother. Dean is looking forward to summer and having more time to be outside playing basketball.
