Richard loved playing with the kids in his neighborhood and riding their bikes, but since his recent move, he no longer has that opportunity. He doesn’t participate in many after-school activities mainly because transportation is very difficult for him. He has requested a bike of his own so he can get some exercise and potentially make new friends. He lives close to his school, which means he would be able to ride there and back for extracurricular activities. Unfortunately, due to his current circumstances, Richard feels confined to his home because of the lack of transportation. He has been struggling with his mental health and often spends most of his time in a room with an older cousin with whom he is not very close. Granting him this wish for a bike will provide him with the freedom to exercise and enjoy the outdoors. It will also serve as a mode of transportation to the gym, bus stop, or to meet up with friends his age.
