Rent Assistance for Kristina who is trying to financially recover from a difficult summer

Kristina is an aspiring veterinarian, and is looking forward to graduating so she can tend to animals all day long. While she thought she landed an amazing internship over the summer, once she started she was informed they would not be able to pay her. It was too late in the process to start over and find another internship, so Kristina had to work the whole summer without a paycheck. This has really put her behind financially, and she is hoping for some relief with her October rent. Once her rent is taken care of, she will be able to catch up on many of her other bills, including her tuition bill for this year.
Kristina is 29 years old and lives in NC
Kristina entered foster care at age three, and really didn't understand why she was separated from her mom. Her mother struggled with mental illness, and was not able to care for Kristina. Her childhood was chaotic and she struggled to complete high school. Kristina is so proud of the fact that she went back as an adult student, completed her high school equivalency program, and is now a senior at Livingstone College majoring in biology. Kristina is hoping to apply to veterinary school and one day work in wildlife management.
