A Tablet for Gia who is in need of a creative outlet

Posted Jan 6, 2022
Gia has been going through a tough time and unfortunately has been in four different placements in the past couple of months. She reports being bored in her most recent placement - even being described as 'desperate for activity' by her law guardian. She is a bright and creative young woman who could benefit greatly from a tablet to use as a creative outlet.

Gia is 16 years old and lives in NJ

Gia is a sweet and resilient young girl. She has been through a lot in the past few years but remains hopeful for her future. Despite having changed school several times, she continues to work hard at maintaining good grades. Gia is very bright. She has been described by many as creative and well read - while the other girls in her past group home would watch TV, Gia preferred to spend her time reading the Bible.

The Wish Story

CASA of Atlantic and Cape May Counties requests this wish for Gia.

One Simple Wish posts the wish to the website.

Bethany grants the wish for Gia! Thanks Bethany.

"I hope this gift helps your creativity flourish. We all need safe outlets to strengthen who we are. I hope you also consider getting a free reading app (local libraries have these too) on your tablet. Reading about characters who’ve had similar experiences can help you process and understand the world around you. I am a professor at a university where I teach elementary and middle school literature and I have seen (many, many times) what finding and reading the right book can do for a person"

One Simple Wish sends the gift to the CASA of Atlantic and Cape May Counties for Gia.

"Thank you so much for getting Gia her tablet! Once she found out her wish was granted, she called her CASA volunteer every day to find out when it would be here. She was so excited!"
