An Uber gift card for Kristiona to be successful in school

Posted Jan 18, 2022
Kristiona has gone back to college to get more education to help her work with young kids in a preschool setting! She loves what she gets to do every day and is enjoying her job and the kids she works with. This class she needs is only offered in the evenings and when it gets out, the bus is no longer an option! She will have a way to get to class but no way to get home. An Uber gift card will ensure she is able to safely get home while growing her teaching skills to help the young children she serves! The semester runs from January to May.

Kristiona is 29 years old and lives in CO

Kristiona was placed in foster care at the age of two. She was adopted but later bounced around from foster home to foster home at the age of nine. After being returned to foster care, she aged out. Despite facing everyday obstacles and medical issues, Kristiona became independent and started her college journey, which has been successful. She has graduated with her Bachelor's degree and is now looking to continue her education to work with children. Currently, she works as a teacher at an early head start preschool and enjoys every moment of it. Kristiona is committed to breaking the generational cycle of abuse and lack of education. Her ultimate goal is to own and run a summer camp for children in foster care, providing them with not only fun but also therapeutic and mentoring support.
