Derrick received his MSW, applied to law school, was accepted, and is almost at the finish line. What Derrick has accomplished in his life is nothing short of extraordinary, but he has one last step to complete his academic journey after graduating law school this spring - taking and passing the Maryland Bar Exam. Derrick came to One Simple Wish seeking support with his bar exam classes, and the fees necessary to apply to take the bar exam. We, as a community, cannot stand by and watch as this out of reach cost could possibly derail Derrick from achieving his dreams. And today is his birthday!! What an amazingly, sweet birthday gift to Derrick for him to have his wish granted today. Once he is an attorney, Derrick will never allow a child to go through the legal system without proper representation, and he will never break his promise to serve as their voice.
