An Electric Scooter for Georgette to get back and forth to class on campus

Georgette is asking for an electric scooter. She has had ongoing wound treatments for 6 years and walking a lot causes her wounds to worsen, so walking from the far parking lots to classes is hard on her feet. Using an electric scooter would give her feet a break, allow them to keep healing and make learning just a little less painful, but maybe even provide a little fun in between classes.
Georgette is 50 years old and lives in CA
Georgette graduated from CSULB with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology last December. Her experience caring for her foster mom, who had dementia, for 7 years opened her eyes to the fact that there is a shortage of people working to advocate for older people. Yet, she managed to earn her degree in 4 years while also maintaining a 4.0 GPA, supporting the Guardian Scholars Program at CSULB, and leading it’s sister student organization Fostering Futures as President. These experiences all motivated her to continue on to get her Masters’ degree – something she would have never dreamed of even six years ago! Now she is on track to earn a Masters’ of Science in Gerontology by the end of 2025 and plans to begin working on behalf of older people and their families.

I’ve been getting treatment for some severe problems with my feet for 7 years and walking all over campus has been taking a toll, so getting this scooter is a true gift in more ways than one.
